Lucy has grown up in two cultures: British and Egyptian. Her parents come from Alexandria.
Lucy and her mother are going to cook an Egyptian meal, but before cooking, they have some time left to stroll around. The thirteen-year-old girl enjoys going for a walk through her neighbourhood. But not alone, only with her mother. In Streatham, which is in the south of London, there is a special high street. Streatham High Road was voted ”the worst street in Britain“ in 2002, because of poverty and traffic chaos. It‘s safer and better now, but still it‘s not a good place for younger teenagers.
